With over 40 years of combined building experience and knowledge, Matt and Josh are able to build anything you can dream.

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Matt lived in Cape Cod for 10 years after high school learning every aspect of custom home building from renowned New England craftsmen. After moving to North Carolina he worked as a lead carpenter, overseeing all carpentry aspects of high-end custom homes for four years. During that time he realized his true passion was custom cabinetry and client-focused woodworking projects. So in 2008 he set off on his own and started Finely Finished Woodworking.

He now lives in Hendersonville, North Carolina with his wife, two kids, and three dogs.

Josh was born and raised in Hendersonville, North Carolina. After college, he spent 2 years in the Peace Corps before moving to Asheville to work as a carpenter focused on high-end renovations. in 2006 Josh moved just south of Hendersonville to manage Whole Log Lumber, a lumber mill specializing in reclaimed wood. Shortly after making the move, Matt and Josh met as Matt was buying some reclaimed lumber for his own home. Over the next 7 years the two came to appreciate each other’s work and eventually joined forces in 2013.

Josh and his wife have one kid and live less than 5 miles from Matt and his family.
